Design WordPress backend code snppets can be copied and pasted in your functions.php file. After copying the code, you can modiiy it as you wish. The CSs code integrated in the code snippet is well organized and can be edited to fit with your website design.

Design WordPress backend without a plugin. I always prefer to add code to my WordPress websites because plugins usually come with tons of code when you install them. This does not only make your website slow, but moost plugins provide more than you actually need.

If you have a membershite or a multi author blog, designing the backend and removing the WordPress logo should be highly considered. This will help you build a brand and it looks nicer.

Design WordPress backend can also play a good role in enhancing security, because your backend won´t show the default logo: surely it does not add any security layers to your website, but the look makes it feasible for bad guys that ythis website is a custom one.

Please make sure you take a look at the Security article: WordPress Security Guide if you are also interested in adding security layers to your website:

Design WordPress Backend:

Before you get started with copying the codes below in thsi article to design WordPress Backend , please make sure you do this:

  • Create a backup of your website. (There are so many plugins that can do the work. If not download the whole directory of your website from the File Manager.)
  • Create a Child Theme. (Creating a child theme will help you keep all your custom codes and changes from being lost if the Main Theme is updated. If you do not have a Child Theme, you will lose everything you will make today.) To learn how to create a Child Theme go to WordPress Codex Child Theme
  • Once you have created a Child theme, Open your Functions.php. We will break down the codes in small pieces to make easy for you to understand:

Remove default WordPress Logo & replace it with your own:

This code will change the WordPress default logo and will replace it by your logo. Please replace the dash inside the CSS code with the link to your website Logo:

<?php

 function my_login_logo() { ?>

    <style type="text/css">
#login h1 a, .login h1 a {
            background-image: url('#');
		width:300px;
		background-size:80px;
		background-repeat: no-repeat;
        	padding-bottom: 0px;

}

Design the body background & Login Form (CSS):

Please make sure you replace (#) with the link of your Body Image. The code is simple and can be used as it is. You have all the freedom to edit it and hsow some creativity.

body.login{

background:url('#') repeat;

}

#loginform{
margin-top: 20px;
    margin-right: 0;
    padding: 26px 24px 46px;
    font-weight: 400;
    overflow: hidden;
    /* background: #fff; */
    box-shadow: 0 1px 60px rgba(0,0,0,.13);
    border:none;
    border-radius:5px;
}

#loginform .login form .input, .login input[type=text] {
    font-size: 24px;
    width: 100%;
    padding: 5px;
    margin: 2px 0 16px 6px;
    height: 50px;
    border-radius: 5px;
    border:2px solid green;
}
#loginform .login form .input, .login form input[type=checkbox], .login input[type=text] {
    background: none;
    border: none;
    border:2px solid green;
}
#privacy-policy-link{
 display:none;
}
#userlogin {
    font-size: 24px;
    width: 100%;
    padding: 10px;
    margin: 2px 0 16px 6px;
}
#loginform .login form .input, .login form input[type=checkbox], .login input[type=text] {
    background: none;
    border:none;
    margin-top: 15px;
}

#loginform .login .privacy-policy-page-link {
    text-align: center;
    width: 100%;
    margin: 5em 0 2em;
    display:none;
}
#loginform .login #backtoblog, .login #nav {
    font-size: 13px;
    padding: 10px;
    background: #eee;
    text-align: center;
}
#loginform .login label {
    font-size: 14px;
    margin-bottom:15px;
}
    </style>

<?php }

Remove the default footer in the admin & replace with yours:

This will remove the default footer inside the admin Area when you log in:

function remove_footer_admin () {
  echo "YourTitle";
}
add_filter('admin_footer_text', 'remove_footer_admin');
